Occupational Health & Safety Policy
Workplace safety, physical facility standards, ergonomics, and mental wellness protections governing TopLogical Nigeria Limited across on-site and remote operations.
1. General Policy Statement
TopLogical Nigeria Limited(“Company”) is dedicated to providing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive working environment for all employees, contractors, interns, and visitors.
We believe that operational excellence and technical innovation are inseparable from the physical health, psychological safety, and overall well-being of our workforce. We are committed to preventing accidents, work-related illnesses, and physical strain through continuous hazard identification and safe working practices.
2. Statutory Framework & Scope
This policy is formulated in compliance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and internationally recognized workplace health standards:
- Factories Act (Cap F1, LFN 2004) regarding occupational health standards.
- Employees’ Compensation Act (ECA 2010) governing workplace injury protection and social insurance.
- Labor Act (Cap L1, LFN 2004) regarding conditions of work.
- Principles of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems).
This policy applies to our corporate headquarters located at Suite F306, Ogba Central Mall, Lagos, Nigeria, as well as all approved home-office and remote workspaces used by our personnel.
3. Ergonomics & Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
As a software and cybersecurity intelligence organization, prolonged computer usage represents the most frequent occupational hazard for our engineering, compliance, and analytical staff. TopLogical mandates the following ergonomic guidelines:
Monitors must be positioned directly in front of the user with the top of the screen at eye level, approximately arm’s length away, with adjustable seating providing lumbar support.
Staff are encouraged to follow the “20-20-20” rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at an object at least 20 feet away. A mandatory 5-minute movement break is recommended every hour.
4. Physical Office Safety & Hygiene
At our primary operating location (Suite F306, Ogba Central Mall, Lagos), TopLogical maintains high standards of facility safety:
- Electrical Safety: Electrical appliances, power strips, and backup inverters must be regularly inspected. Overloading outlets and trailing cords across walkways are strictly prohibited.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation: Daily sanitization of work surfaces, clean drinking water dispensers, and proper ventilation/air conditioning are provided.
- Slip & Trip Prevention: Aisles, hallways, and emergency exits must remain clear of storage boxes, cabling, and debris at all times.
5. Fire Safety & Emergency Evacuation
TopLogical enforces comprehensive emergency readiness protocols:
- Fire Extinguishers: Certified dry powder and CO2 extinguishers are mounted at visible locations within Suite F306 and inspected biannually.
- Evacuation Plan: In the event of a fire alarm or emergency announcement, all personnel must calmly evacuate via the designated staircase exits and assemble at the Ogba Central Mall Ground Parking Lot.
- First Aid: A fully stocked First Aid Kit is maintained on site with trained First Aiders designated within the operations team.
6. Mental Health & Remote Work Guidelines
TopLogical recognizes that psychological well-being is fundamental to workplace safety:
- Anti-Harassment & Respect: We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against bullying, harassment, discrimination, and toxic workplace conduct.
- Work-Life Harmony: Operating hours are structured to prevent chronic burnout. Staff are not expected to monitor non-critical communications outside scheduled shifts without on-call compensation.
- Remote Worker Safety: Team members working remotely are responsible for maintaining a hazard-free, quiet, and ergonomically sound home office.
7. Incident Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Every employee is obligated to report any workplace injury, near-miss incident, or unsafe environmental condition immediately, and in no case later than 24 hours following the occurrence.
